Where Every Sweet Has a Story
Born from Bengal's kitchens. Made with love, not shortcuts.
How Mishtighar Began
It started with a smell — the unmistakable caramel warmth of nolen gur bubbling in the kitchen, and the sight of hands that had made sondesh for forty years shaping each piece with quiet pride. Growing up in Bengal, sweets weren't a treat. They were how we celebrated, how we mourned, how we welcomed.
But something was changing. The rasogolla on the shelves was softer — held together by things that had no business being there. The sondesh had lost its grain. The chanachur was darker than it should be. Traditional recipes were being replaced by shortcuts, and nobody seemed to notice.
We noticed. So we brought the recipes back — the real ones, made the old way, with honest ingredients. No maida. No palm oil. No artificial anything. Just the taste you remember, or the taste you deserve to discover.
Mishtighar wasn't just a store — it was a promise.

Recipes That Time Didn't Forget
Bengal has one of India's richest sweet-making traditions — centuries of craft, memory, and love in every bite.
These aren't recipes we invented. These are recipes we inherited. Each sweet carries a story — of the hands that made it, the season it belongs to, and the memory it creates.
Nolen Gurer Sondesh
নলেন গুড়ের সন্দেশA winter treasure — soft sondesh made from fresh chhana and date palm jaggery. Its caramel warmth is wholly Bengal's own.
Rosogolla
রসগোল্লাThe pride of Bengal — spongy chhana balls soaked in light sugar syrup. Simple, iconic, irreplaceable.
Pantua
পান্তুয়াBengal's own gulab jamun — but richer, darker, denser. Deep-fried chhana and khoya soaked in cardamom syrup.
Kaju Barfi
কাজু বর্ফিDiamond-shaped cashew fudge — dense, creamy, subtly sweet. Made with whole cashews, no artificial binding.
Chikki
চিক্কিCrunchy jaggery brittle packed with peanuts — a timeless snack, now made without refined sugar.
Jhuri Bhaja
ঝুরি ভাজাCrispy thin potato straws — the perfect companion to evening tea. Fried in pure mustard oil, never palm.
